There’s something magical about creating a wedding invitation that transports guests before they even arrive. For Aliina and Aaron’s destination celebration on the Amalfi Coast, their fully custom invitation suite was designed to do exactly that. We offered a glimpse of sun-washed architecture, coastal romance, and timeless Italian elegance.
Inspired by the Amalfi Coast
From the very beginning, Aliina and Aaron envisioned an experience that reflected the charm of Italy; Where history meets artistry. Their invitation suite drew from the beauty of the Amalfi Coast itself. Terracotta rooftops, blue Mediterranean waters, and intricate Italian mosaics.
We translated this vision into a custom color palette of dusty blue and terracotta — a perfect balance of coastal softness and Old World warmth. Every detail, from the textured papers to the envelope liners, evoked the couple’s destination and the elegance of Italian craftsmanship.
Artful Details & Elegant Techniques
The suite was a true celebration of artisan printing and thoughtful design.
Letterpress printing added depth and texture, creating a tactile experience that felt timeless and refined.
Gold foil press details shimmered softly, catching light in the most romantic way.
Vintage postage added nostalgic charm, giving every envelope a sense of travel and history, as if it had journeyed from the Amalfi Coast itself.
Inside, the envelope liners featured a painted coastal scene of the Amalfi cliffs. A custom, painted piece of artwork that beautifully introduced guests to the setting of their upcoming celebration. The use of double envelopes gave the suite a formal, traditional presentation that mirrored the grandeur of a classic Italian wedding.
Motifs of Italian Architecture
To honor Italy’s architectural beauty, the suite incorporated mosaic tile motifs and elegant artwork inspired by the ornate patterns of the region. “Decoro Classico” (Classic Decoration) and “Italian Trellis,” a nod to Venetian geometry, graced the borders and monogram details. Each element was chosen to reflect the grace of Italian craftsmanship and the couple’s love for art and travel.
A Luxurious Finish
The design came together with a velvet belly band, adorned with a stunning letterpress-printed tile framed in gold foil. This small but significant detail tied the suite together, both literally and symbolically, creating a beautiful first impression of the celebration to come.
A Love Letter to Italy
Aliina and Aaron’s invitation suite was more than stationery. It was an introduction to their wedding story; One that unfolded on the shores of Italy with heartfelt elegance. It showcased how thoughtful design and meaningful details can transform paper into an experience. A keepsake that guests would treasure long after the final toast.
From Vision to Reality
Every fully custom project begins with a digital concept. A digital concept is a detailed mockup that helps couples envision their suite before it’s ever printed. For Aliina and Aaron, we created a digital rendering that showcased the intricate tile borders, the layered layout, and the color palette of dusty blue and terracotta that helped them envision what their invitation suite would look like.
Seeing the final suite beside the mockup brings the design journey full circle. From digital artistry to letterpress texture… From screen, to hand. The transformation highlights the care and detail that go into every custom suite, ensuring the final result feels even more stunning in person.
