Some weddings don’t just start the season—they set the bar. Jenna and Joe’s big day? Total scene-setter for an unforgettable year ahead.
Held at the ever-gorgeous Edgewater Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin (aka the fanciest lakeside spot in town), this March wedding was the colorful, joyful breath of fresh air we all needed after a long winter. The palette was vibrant and bold – but elegant. Think pops of color that didn’t scream, but whispered, “Yes, spring is coming and we are thrilled about it.”
Let’s talk about Jenna. Not only did she look stunning, she wore a wedding dress with the most incredible story. It was the same dress her mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law wore on their wedding days – three generations of love wrapped into one gown. If that doesn’t make you teary, I don’t know what will.
Stuck between “We know what we want” and “how do we even find the time to make this happen?”
Hi! I’m your girl.
Jenna and Joe came to me knowing what they needed and a clear sense of what they loved: color, elegance, and details that felt useful, personal, and gasp-worthy. But, like many couples, they were both very busy outside of wedding planning and they needed someone who could take the load off for them and pull it all together into one cohesive, creative look. They had the ingredients, but needed help with the recipe.
That’s where I came in. We started with the big picture (color, vibe, and sentimental pieces) and then worked our way into all the dreamy little details that made their wedding so them. I translated their vision into tactile pieces that guests could interact with – stationery and signage that didn’t just sit there looking pretty (though, trust me, these details were PRETTY), but also told a story and brought sentimental value.
So, if you’re stuck between the “we know what we want” and “how do we even find the time to make this happen?” stages, you’re not alone – and that’s exactly what I’m here for.
Now, onto the good stuff (aka: my favorite part) – the details.
The Stationery & Signage – aka My Love Language
Not-Your-Average Place Cards: These weren’t just tented place cards; they were pearlescent amethyst beauties layered with soft vellum and sealed with wax, all displaying Jenna and Joe’s custom monogram. This is one of my favorite ways to ID guest meal choices. Using color on a wax seal or ribbon is the route to keeping it classy, elevated, and clear for service staff.
The Statement Welcome Sign: 3D shiny gold acrylic that made guests do a double take. Not only did it show off their monogram (so chic), but it also doubled as their “unplugged ceremony” sign. After the ceremony? Off came the mounted sign and voila! A perfect piece of statement décor for the rest of the day.
The Mirror Moment (Seating Chart): Their seating chart was displayed on an ornate gold mirror with hand-written calligraphy and (you guessed it) wax seals showing off that monogram again. We elevated it—literally—so guests didn’t have to bend down to find their names. Practical and pretty.
Table Numbers:These. Were. Everything. Velvet bases (a nod to Jenna’s gown) with mounted 3D acrylic numbers. Truly one of my favorites I’ve ever made. (And the real kicker? They’ve been added to our rentals collection. Yay!) Sophisticated, textural, and seriously luxurious.
Bar Signage: Layers of signage deliciousness—every drink listed and looking gorgeous. Because simply put; Your cocktail deserves to be introduced with style.
Ceremony Programs:Pearlescent amethyst covers, white foil printing, and velvet ribbon details resulting in the prettiest little ceremony booklets you ever did see. Pages of gorgeousness to flip through before happy tears started flowing.
Reserved Seating Signs: Jenna wanted to honor her parents in the most meaningful way. We created custom linen-draped signs with honorary verbiage and placed beautiful mementos at their seats. It was a truly touching tribute, and I was honored to play a small part in it.
This wedding was a dream—not just because of the incredible couple, the bold colors, or the luxe venue—but because every single detail told a story. And that’s what we love around here. Stories told in wax seals and velvet textures, in shiny acrylics and handwritten titles.
If you’re dreaming up a wedding that feels like you—full of personality, beauty, and a whole lot of sentiment—well, I’d love to help you make it happen.
Stay tuned for more dreamy details from this year’s weddings. We’re just getting started!
Let me first tell you how happy I am that you’re here. I have many passions and I am grateful to be able to bring many of them into my daily life. I have always been creative, but never knew what my niche was until I met calligraphy. When I am not at my desk creating, I work as a Bilingual Resource Teacher in an elementary school (my second language is Spanish!). I also love spending quality time with my people, reading, cooking, exercising, or enjoying the outdoors.
